Upon graduating from any University of Maryland Global Campus bootcamp, you will earn a certificate of completion.
Bootcamps with UMGC are delivered 100% online. Only an internet connection is required to access curriculum.
Bootcamps with UMGC are completed asynchronously and are designed to be completed on your own time.
Students in our Cyber Security Bootcamp typically spend 15-20 hours per week on the program, and finish in about six months.
Students in our UI/UX Design Bootcamp typically spend 10 hours per week on the program, and finish in about nine months.
Students in our Software Engineering Bootcamp spend about 15-20 hours per week on the program, and finish in about nine months.
You have the option to study more per week in order to finish the bootcamp sooner, if you'd like!

Yes, this program is offered by University of Maryland Global Campus in partnership with Springboard, a global, online-first education provider. This partnership allows students like you to build technical skills while earning a certificate of completion from UMGC.
These bootcamps are not credit bearing, but students who complete the bootcamps may be eligible to earn transfer credit from UMGC. Speak with an enrollment advisor to learn about applicable credit articulations.

Cybersecurity Bootcamp
It takes time and effort to become a cybersecurity specialist. We've developed a curriculum that will teach you what you need to know in order to get hired. The length of each student's course will differ, as it is entirely self-paced. We anticipate that the vast majority of students will be finished in 6 months working approximately 10-15 hours per week.
We accept applicants on a rolling basis, but spots are limited. Our application process has multiple steps, and new cohorts of students start the bootcamp monthly.
1. An enrollment advisor will call you for an interview
We’ll reach out for a fit interview if your application and profile meet admission standards. You’ll receive a phone call from either a local area code or a 415 area code. You must complete the fit interview to receive provisional acceptance.
2. Take the technical skills survey
We'll send you a pre-program survey through email to determine any knowledge gaps before the program begins in parallel with your fit interview. It takes about 1/2 hour to complete this survey, and you should plan to complete it within 24 hours.
3. Secure your seat
We are a selective program. If you're selected, we'll send you an e-mail registration link to complete within 24 hours. At this point, you’ll decide on your start date and payment method, you’ll complete your student profile, and you will then be officially enrolled and eligible to be matched with your industry mentor!
We offer three payment options for our bootcamps:
Upfront payment: You pay a discounted total payment upfront.
Month to month: Pay in four payments while in the program.
Climb Credit loan*: Pay a deposit at the time of enrollment. Make payments for a duration of 12 - 24 months depending on loan type. 0% APR options may be available to those who qualify.

The course's last module explores career components in detail. In this module, you'll learn how to design a successful job search method, develop your network, create a cybersecurity resume and LinkedIn profile, practice mock technical and behavioral interviews, debrief after real job interviews, and negotiate your compensation one-on-one with your career coach. We anticipate you will be able to get a cybersecurity position within six months after completing the bootcamp.
To be accepted into the bootcamp, you must have strong English proficiency and be 18 years of age or older. All backgrounds are welcome, but you need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and determination to complete all bootcamp activities.
Software Engineering Bootcamp

The Software Engineering Bootcamp includes nine optional career units, covering everything from identifying appropriate job titles and companies, to conducting mock interviews. The final component of the course is 60 hours of technical interview preparation, which includes in-depth whiteboarding and coding preparation.
It typically takes students a few months after completing the bootcamp to land interviews and ultimately switch jobs.
To be accepted into the bootcamp, you must have strong English proficiency and be 18 years of age or older.
Applicants with existing skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript can test into an accelerated Core version of the curriculum.
If you are new to coding, you can enroll into our Foundations+Core version of the program, where you’ll learn the basics needed to succeed.

UI/UX Design Bootcamp
Most students will complete the UI/UX Design Bootcamp in 9 months, devoting 10 hours/week. You should expect to take the full 9 months, but can aim to complete in less time if you are:
Highly proficient in design thinking
Ready to devote more time per week to complete the curriculum materials

The application process for the UI/UX Design Bootcamp is designed to evaluate a baseline of visual skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to empathize with users to synthesize and generate ideas. We're not looking for perfect answers—you're not a UI/UX design pro yet! We want to get a better sense of your instincts in each area.
Students must also demonstrate English fluency, as determined by initial interactions with the Enrollment team.

In this module, you'll work 1:1 with your career coach to create a successful job search strategy, build your network, craft a UI/UX design resume and LinkedIn profile, practice mock technical and behavioral interviews, debrief after actual job interviews, and negotiate your salary. We expect you can land a job as a UI/UX designer within six months of course graduation.
All backgrounds are welcome as long as you can demonstrate strong visual, creativity, and communication skills (which are critical on a cross-functional design team).
Data Science Bootcamp
We expect most students will complete the course in 9 months studying between 15-20 hours per week. The curriculum is built to teach you the skills needed to land a job.
Spots are limited and we accept candidates on a rolling basis. We have a multi-step application process.

Students without prior coding experience, with proficiency in math and statistics will be provided units that cover essential data science concepts, including Python, which you’ll need to succeed in the core curriculum.
Students with prior experience in statistics and programming, such as software developers, analysts, and finance professionals, will have access to the same introductory units, but they will be optional. You’ll be able to move right into the core curriculum.
Machine Learning Engineering and AI Bootcamp

The final module of the course explores various career components where you will gain insights into crafting an effective job search strategy, expanding your professional network, refining your resume and LinkedIn profile, honing your skills through mock technical and behavioral interviews, debriefing after real job interviews, and receiving guidance on compensation negotiation in one-on-one sessions with your career coach. Our goal is to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to secure a rewarding position in the field.
The Machine Learning Engineering and AI Bootcamp is designed for students who are proficient in object-oriented programming (Python, Java and JavaScript). It is open to students who are working as software engineers or data scientists and students who have undergraduate degrees in computer science, physics, computational mathematics, statistics, or a similar field. The course is also open to self-taught programmers who display a high degree of technical savvy.
